Bob Murtha founded The MacIntosh Company in 1984. An entrepreneur in the healthcare field, Mr. Murtha named the company after his grandfather, Neil MacIntosh. With that family name comes our company philosophy of caring for your loved ones as we would our own. When we talk about personalized, uncompromised healthcare, we provide the same level of care that we would expect our own loved ones to receive.
Providing outstanding service in seven central Ohio care communities
The MacIntosh Company first operated Pickaway Manor Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living, quickly adding Monterey Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Memory Care to the company. Mill Run Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living opened in June 1997 and New Albany Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living followed in February 1998. Whetstone Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living was purchased at the same time New Albany opened.
We expanded into home health in 1991 with the addition of Amity Care Home Care. Amity means friendship, which aligned with our care community model. In 1994, MacIntosh Rehab was established, allowing our care communities and home health services to provide rehabilitation services with our own staff therapists.
West Park Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Memory Care joined The MacIntosh Company family of care communities in June 2016.
Looking ahead to our healthcare future
What does the future hold for The MacIntosh Company? Our newest care community will open in Canal Winchester in fall 2017. The state-of-the-art assisted living and skilled care center features barn-style architecture that reflects the area’s farming heritage.
