How does Amity Care ensure quality care?

Providing quality care to clients is paramount to all we do. Amity Care professional nurses and therapists conduct detailed assessments of their client's medical and functional status at admission to our home health service and formulate an individualized plan of care. Amity Care has been nationally ranked in the top 25% of home care agencies numerous times and once again for 2012 by Home Care Elite for quality outcomes. In addition, each client receives a satisfaction survey that assists in our ongoing evaluation process to continually improve client satisfaction.

How do I pay for home healthcare?

Our staff will determine your eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance benefits. Our business manager will gladly verify all benefits and file any necessary paperwork. And for your convenience, private pay options are available for all services.

Amity has insurance contracts with many of the recognized carriers and our business staff are available to check your benefits Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

What criteria must be met for Medicare to approve services?

• The client must be covered by Medicare Part A.
• The skilled care must be medically necessary as determined by the physician.
• The client must be homebound which is defined by Medicare as normal inability to leave the home which requires a considerable or taxing effort.

How often will Amity Care visit my home?

Amity Care professionals, in conjunction with your family physician, will determine the frequency of visits needed to meet your individual needs. If you are paying privately, you are able to determine how often you would like Amity Care staff visit your home.

What if I have a problem at night or on the weekend?

Amity Care has registered nurses on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week ready to talk with you.

How do I know what type of care I need?

If you need physician-ordered skilled medical care, our Medicare and Medicaid certified Skilled nursing agency can meet your individual needs. If you need assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, running errands, dressing/bathing or even medication reminders, then our Private-Duty Living Assistance is perfect for you.
